Clinical Supervision Essentials

Join me, Dr. Vicki Loyer, in building your clinical supervision skills. Choose to meet live, online with AzBBHE approved Clinical Supervision (CS) Training (12 hour/2 days) or the Refresher (6 hour/1day).
What will you learn? The first day helps you get started, takes you step-by-step into the rules, regulations, and paperwork that is needed to be a skilled supervisor. The second day takes you through current research, practice, and the most recent changes and requirements in supervision. CS Training meets two days: CS Refresher meets one day only.
Do you only need to refresh in one area? Attend only the section you need. This CS training is well suited to dividing into 6 smaller 2-hour units for persons who prefer more contact time to learn and practice the skills. Sign up for just what you need. Don’t see your preference here? Give us a call at 520-388-9180. You’ll speak directly to someone who can help.

The Contemporary Relational Supervisor
by Robert E. Lee & Thorana S. Nelson
Lee and Nelson have revised their highly useful Contemporary Relational Supervisor book to include the major systemic models, and approaches, evaluation, ethical and legal issues, and information on therapist development. For beginning supervisors to experienced supervisors, there is something in here for everyone. I highly recommend this as a go-to reference on your shelf.
Clinical Supervision: A Competency-Based Approach
by Carol A Falender, PhD & Dr. Edward P Shafranske PhD, ABPP

Using an empirical approach to supervision these authors integrate research and practice into a multicultural frame. They provide templates for contracts and evaluation, and cover every area of supervision you can think of, including a pragmatic section on what makes supervision effective or not. Few have contributed as much as Carol Falender to the building of skilled supervisors and effective clinicians.
