Are you concerned about your behavior or a loved one's behavior? Typical relationship issues brought into this practice involve marriage, divorce, parenting, illness, and addiction. Along with relationship difficulties many people also experience depression, anxiety and anger. Sometimes people allow embarrassment or shame to keep them away from seeking help. Be assured that whatever your problem is, someone else has had a very similar problem. You are not alone. Our work together is safe and confidential, and we can address any of your concerns.
Individual, Marriage, and Family Therapy
Being a part of a loving relationship can provide for you an environment that supports healthier and more productive living than typically occurs without the support of a close network of friends and family. To keep family networks healthy takes work. Sometimes you can find all the help that you need in the number of very good self-help books available in bookstores and on-line. Other times a class or support group can help guide you to overcoming obstacles to your happiness. When more help is needed, a marriage and family therapist can help you to assess your needs, provide the information that you need, and teach you any skills that you need to make your experience more enriching.
I offer individual, couple, and family therapy, and equine assisted psychotherapy and team building. Most often the format is an experiential family systems therapy that is competency focused and addresses the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that sustain particular interactions: both healthy and unhealthy.
Equine Assisted Psychotherapy
Sometimes it is helpful to use experiential therapy that facilitates alternative thoughts and behaviors. Equine therapy is a fun and effective way to achieve that goal and is available as a part of on-going individual and family therapy program. Equine therapy can also be experienced as a single event for yourself or for a group's growth and learning opportunity.
Experience the power of Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy (EAP) by participating in an individually developed Equine facilitated team building session. Involve 4 - 8 members of your leadership team and teach those members to be aware of Self, of Others, and to become observers of Self and Others. Personal lives spill over to the workplace and managing typical life stresses, are returning from active combat, or trying to negotiate unmanageable life stresses, with horses we have the power to provide insight into and strategies for improved awareness and responsiveness to self and others.
Participants will focus on how they are different with different people in their life. They will notice triggers, strengths, learn about emotional safety. Productivity increases as a product of knowing what a healthy relationship looks and feels like, and knowing how to create healthy and productive relationships.
Blue Door Associates
You know us by the Blue Door. The first step in getting help is to find a door open to you. It is often difficult to locate appropriate therapy services, and once you find a therapy that works for you the finances can be challenging. The Blue Door is open to all on a sliding scale for a minimum of $25 per clinical hour. At that price you agree to work with a new professional who is completing her/his internship for her/his master's degree in behavioral health. That intern is supervised by an approved supervisor, so you have more than one professional working with you.
The Blue Door also has licensed associates. The minimum fee for working with an associate is $50. Associates will have fees set based on their levels of experience, and again, they are supervised in their clinical practice by an approved supervisor.
If you prefer to work with Dr. Loyer, that is also available to you at her rate, which you will find under Rates
